5 t/h biomass pyrolysis plant installed by DOING in Ghana

Following its successful shipment in December 2025, the 5 t/h biomass pyrolysis plant independently developed and manufactured by Doing Company underwent installation and system commissioning by our company's engineering team in June 2026; it is now operating stably at the client's project site in Ghana.

This 5 t/h biomass pyrolysis plant installed in Ghana comprises five core systems: drying, carbonization, combustible gas recovery, exhaust emission, and cooling. It fully meets the client's requirements regarding operational stability, energy conversion efficiency, and crucially the quality of the biochar produced (ensuring compliance with international carbon credit market standards).

The project partner operates multiple large-scale biomass processing projects in Africa. Unlike conventional waste reduction operations, this Ghanaian client’s primary focus is on carbon sinks. They urgently require high-efficiency biomass pyrolysis machine to convert abundant local biomass resources into high-value biochar.

biochar carbon sink projectBiochar production for carbon sink

Ghana and the surrounding regions possess abundant biomass resources, including agricultural waste (like groundnut shells, oil palm empty fruit bunches and rice husks) and forestry by-products (like sawdust and wood chips). Traditional disposal methods, such as direct burning or allowing the material to decompose naturally, not only result in resource waste but also generate significant greenhouse gas emissions. In contrast, DOING’s biomass pyrolysis plant locks in the carbon within biomass through physical and chemical reactions. The resulting biochar is highly stable; it serves not only as a powerful tool for soil amendment and fertility enhancement but also as a key medium for long-term carbon sequestration.

To ensure the produced biochar seamlessly meets the requirements for international carbon sink project certification, the DOING technical team has fine-tuned the temperature control systems, residence times, and condensation recovery systems. These customized technical adjustments ensure that the biochar fully complies with the high standards of the international carbon credit market regarding specific surface area, pore structure, and fixed carbon purity, thereby helping clients successfully secure revenue from carbon emission reductions.

This 5 t/h biomass pyrolysis plant is currently operating successfully in Ghana, marking another successful implementation of DOING’s continuous biomass pyrolysis technology in the African market. Large quantities of biomass are fed daily into the pyrolysis reactor, where operating with zero external fuel input (utilizing self-generated combustible gas for heating), the material is continuously converted into high-value biochar products.

If you have abundant biomass waste awaiting processing, or wish to seize global green opportunities through biochar carbon sequestration projects, please feel free to contact Doing Company. We will tailor a highly efficient, eco-friendly, and commercially lucrative pyrolysis and carbonization investment solution specifically for you.
